licking self

Kit has been breaking out in skin problem, near his penis, on his leg. He licks till there is no hair!
Had impacted anal glands, had a collar on for 2 weeks, vet took off the collar on tuesday & here it
is wednesday & he is licking & losing hair!. The keeps telling me its the cat litter. He generally gets this
every 3 or 4 months. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Sometimes they'll over-groom because they're neurotic about something. A wet coat could be making litter stick to it but I'd bet it's something else, impacted anal glands sounds gruesome. I'd ditch the collar unless he wanders outdoors and really needs one.

It may be an allergy/skin rash perhaps?

The litter may be the issue....have you tried other litter to see if it helps?
