? Licking Lips???

I do believe that I read that if your cat is licking their lips they are nauseous... Is there anything I can give him to settle his stomach? The poor guy has been through so much this week.

Slippey Elm Bark slurry but can't give it within 2 hours of any meds (before or after). Marshmallow root (same restrictions as SEB).

It could be stomach acid and if that is the case here are options:

Ondansetron or Cerenia are your best bets for nausea. The first is a prescription from the vet that you get filled at a people pharmacy, the second is sold by the vet. Sending tummy settling vines.

Yes, licking lips could be nausea. Another thing that I have done as per Foodfurlife.com peeps is to give 1/4 tsp of Slippery Elm Bark( SEB) mixed into 1/2 tsp of George's Aloe Vera Juice ( AVJ). I am one for more natural remedies rather than pharmaceuticals but each their own. I give SEB and AVJ daily as a maintenance thing.

I like natural better too, but at some point they aren't enough. I tried SEB and AVJ for Neko, but it wasn't enough. One other thing, you also have to add water to that mix. However, in Amanda's previous post about Ham, the vet says he has a mass in his tummy. He may need something stronger for nausea now.

If he got an antibiotic, a probiotic a few hours after may help his tummy. Other than that I always used Ondanstron and/or Cerenia. Sending tummy feel better vines to Ham.

Unfortunately it's going to be a while before we can find out. I just spent every bit of my savings this month on vet visits to find out why he wasn't eating and why he is anemic. When I was at the vet Friday and Saturday they never said anything about a mass, but the new vet on Monday found it and I find it hard to believe that a mass popped up in one day. It breaks my heart that there isn't more I can do for him right now. I just hope he's not in any pain.
