other than nausea, what can be the cause of lip licking/licking chops?

Mr b has beeen doing a fair bit of that lately. It doesnt seem to be nausea, as he eats very well.

His breath doesnt smell.

Maybe teeth? Or the feeling that something is stuck in his teeth? Just a thought.

Is he dehydrated?

Teasel does this as well, not a lot and otherwise seems OK. I've wondered whether they're dry in the mouth because of fluid loss in urine. I add quite a bit of warm water to all his meals and snacks.

Just Googled this: dry mouth is a common symptom of Type 1 and 2 diabetes in humans related to BG levels.
