Levi and his sister had a vet visit today to get senior panels done and to get their shots updated. Due to Levi's aggression and inconsistent eating, I have not done any insulin in a week. His blood sugar today at the vet's office was 148, and his fructosamine was 373. For comparison, his last fructosamine level was 464, done in June, 2022. Neither I nor his vet are really sure what is going on, but the decision has been made to do a recheck in 4 weeks, without doing any insulin during that time.

If you are not going to give insulin I would strongly recommend you test the urine for ketones every few days if at all possible.
the reason I suggest this is because if a diabetic cat needs insulin and is not getting it, he can start forming ketones which can multiple if not treated and lead to DKA which can be deadly.
I would also make sure he is eating very well.
To do this you will need a bottle of Ketostix from Walmart or a pharmacy. Collect the urine and dip the test strip into the urine and read it exactly 15 seconds later against the colours on the side of the bottle. There should be no ketones.
