Levemir vs. Lantus?

I am wondering how similar Levemir and Lantus are. My kitty is currently on Lantus, has been fairly well controlled for several months. (my spreadsheet is not up to date, i'm sorry) I have the opportunity to get some Levemir pens for free, and I'm wondering what kind of transition this would be for her. Any advice would be much appreciated.
