Levemir on Facebook

Because I feel that some new diabetic cat caregivers may turn to Facebook for help, I have created a Facebook page/community for Levemir insulin. I have included links to articles regarding Levemir, as well as made a few comments regarding its handling and usage. It is a work in progress. Others are welcome to add links, but they must pertain directly to Levemir and its use in cats as closely as possible. I would prefer that we not link to FDMB posts, unless they are ones that are instructional like Sheila's drop method, reason being that it could become a hodge-podge of links to posts and that's not the purpose of the community. It is to be informational only and not a place to discuss individual cases, that place is FDMB. I truly believe that Levemir is a wonderful insulin for cats, which is why I created the page, to help others learn the benefits.

I may friend you personally if I recognize you from FDMB. My name on Facebook is Finding Neo. Too many years online to use my real name on a social networking site. I welcome friend requests, just be warned my wall may contain political stuff you don't agree with. Just tell me you're from FDMB.

Thanks for doing this, Vicky.

I want to also note that the page encourages joining FDMB for access to the general management of a diabetic cat and personal communication about that care.

Vicky, can a non-FDMB person "see" the links to the lev posts about the drop method? It just occurred to me that they might not be able to because they are in a "login required" part of this oard.

Anyone can access the FDMB ISGs without signing into the board. I think the only areas that people can't see, unless logged in, are Community and Grief.

To echo Sheila - thanks for doing this Vicky. It's a great idea and will go a long way to getting the word out about Levemir being a fantastic insulin!

I would think they can read things on FDMB without registering, but wouldn't be able to post without registering. Thanks for bringing it up, I hadn't really thought about it until you asked. I will try to limit FDMB links. I suppose we could post the pictures directly on the page too.

If anyone knows for sure whether it would be impossible for non-FDMB members to access the drop method pictures/post, please let me here. Thanks.

If you want to put some info into google docs, and share that link on the facebook page, that may be accessible to many

Bump, not that it's that far down the page, but we seem stalled at 20 likes so far. There is also a Diabetic Pets Facebook page now, no affiliation with Levemir for Diabetic Cats on Facebook, and I assume it covers both cats and dogs, but it's worth joining as well.
