Levemir discontinued???!!

I have just been made aware of this and am freaking out. What is everyone planning to do ?
I’ve been through Lantus already and didn’t have great results. I am literally sick to my stomach.
 
If I understand correctly, it is being discontinued in the US market, with supply chain disruptions likely early this year and pens being phased out by April and then vials by the end of the year. What is not clear is whether it will still be available in the Canadian market, which might mean still being able to source it via a Canadian distributor.

Some of us are looking at getting some additional supply but at some point if it is completely discontinued and when the supply runs out, I know I for one agree, I won’t go back to Lantus, at which point I might consider Tresiba.
 
From what I read since finding this out, it seems they are mentioning global. Not sure if it’s true but I have an e mail in to Canada to get some info from them.
As for Tresiba, isn’t that one of the weekly shots? Those scare me. This whole thing scares me as we will have to learn a whole new pattern of how anything new is going to react over time. I am so upset and anxious right now

It would take some adjustment, and yes, from my point of view as well, it’s one thing to relearn how a new insulin is working because you’ve switched from a previous insulin that wasn’t working very well, but it’s another to be forced to switch. I suspect there are a lot of people who use Lev who feel the same way, it is very distressing.

So I am confused as to how Tresiba is dosed? I saw reference to 24-40 hrs? I am so terrified to have to start over and have that worry of not knowing where her numbers could go.
