I need to get a refill of Levemir for Howie. Has anyone used this coupon below at Walmart or Walgreens recently? I’ve never purchased Levemir from them as I don’t know how it works for a pet and if they automatically turn you down. I got a new script from my vet in June for it. https://www.novocare.com/insulin/my99insulin.html?src=100001849

I
f that doesn’t work, then I’ll get my refills from Marks Marine Pharmacy. For anyone who gets their insulin from there, have the shipping times improved to the States? The last I knew, some people were waiting 3 weeks as it had to go through customs in LA. A pen lasts Howie 5-6 days so I need to time this out. I certainly would rather use the coupon if it works to save some money!

I'm in NYS and my shipment from Mark's took about a week to arrive once it shipped

but it took two weeks from ordering to shipping. I think that was a mistake on their part though tbh

Best thing to do would be to just call and ask them! They have a free 800 number.

Unfortunately, most of the savings programs for drugs don't work for pets (although some pharmacies can make them work but I don't know how)

I got the $99 insulin coupon to work att my local Harris Teeter pharmacy. The first time there was no problem. For the refill they had to do an averide since I showed them the coupon again and it said it was good for two packs of pens

"Patient will pay $99 per 35 mL (i.e., up to 3 vials or 2 packs of pens or any combination thereof) up to a maximum of 150 mL per calendar month. Once enrolled in the program, the Savings Offer is valid for the calendar year."

I will try again for the next refill if it is within a year. A potential problem is the requirements include "A valid Prescriber ID# is required on the prescription. " The usually means an NPI number.

"Often retail and community pharmacies request Veterinarians’ NPI (National Provider Identification) number when filling prescriptions for animal patients. NPI numbers were implemented in 2007 by the Department of Health and Human Services to identify healthcare providers that bill for Medicare services. Unfortunately, veterinarians can’t get NPI numbers, as they do not meet the definition of health care provider as defined in the 45 CFR 160.103."

I did not think the cupon would work but I had nothing to lose by trying. For the refill I did not think it would work but I tried and was successful. I count that as a blessing.
