Lethargy in older cat along with unexpected good number

Sebastian was diagnosed well over 5 years ago-- I can't even remember the year-- and is currently on Prozinc. His numbers have been so consistent for so long that we haven't been great about testing regularly, I will be honest.

However, since yesterday, he's been unusually lethargic. Eating and drinking just fine but pretty sluggish-- refuses to play with his toys or move around much. So we tested him tonight before his normal shot time, and he was at 130. The lowest he's been ever! So he didn't get insulin, but he is still sluggish and sad.

Could it be that we've been giving unnecessary insulin and it's been causing the behavior change? He is 13, so it could just be old age, but it really feels like something is wrong with him. Shouldn't he be more perky with a bg of 130?

We will test again in a few hours and see where he is, but I'm wondering if we should take him to the vet tomorrow. Thank you for any advice!
 
Thank you both. We tested him again a few hours ago and he was at 153. Still a really good number (especially for +14) but he's still pretty sluggish and tired. Will call vet tomorrow.
 
He's been getting 2.5 units for a while now. He didn't get a shot last night due to his lower number, but then this morning he was at 400, ugh. Strangely, though, he seems much perkier today and back to his normal self. He even played with a toy-- so, I think we are going to keep an eye on him for the next few days (and of course be diligent about testing) and see how it goes before stressing him out with a visit to the vet.

We did lower him to 2 units this morning, which I hope was the right thing to do.
 
Next time he's too low to shoot, stall 30 minutes without feeding and retest to see if the number is going up. Post for ideas if you aren't certain about shooting.
