Basil has been OTJ since March 2010 (thank you Lantus Land!) and I have been feeding him lower carb Fancy Feast all along. He occasionally vomited for no known reason and I occasionally gave him flavors that were 7, 8 and 9 % carbs. Turns out they had wheat gluten and none of his other flavors did.
Well, last night, I gave him the 8% one for the first time in weeks, 1/8 can with a lot of plain chicken breast mixed in to bring the carb %age down. I still have some cans and thought I would try that. He vomited.
It must be the gluten. Well, I realize I haven't proved that, but I have no reason to test it again! Begone, wheat gluten. Basil, you will have to be happy with 5% and under!
