Leo's 1 year OTJ Anniversary

Hi All!

We've been off doing other crazy adventures, but we wanted to run over here to invite you to celebrate Leo's 1 year OTJ! He's inviting all his buds for a wild party in the back yard in the jacuzzi, with mouse chowder, niptinis, and catnip encrusted shrimp kabobs, and he hopes all this besties over the bridge can sneak away and join the celebration for just one night. His buds are just too numerous to name, but you know who you all are, kittehs! And everyone else is invited, too!

I can't believe it's been a whole year, although when I think about his horrible commutes with me every week, I realize just how long he's been enjoying living at home, even if it's without Mommy for 3 days at a time.

Leo's BGs have been consistently around 70 and he still comes trotting over to me when I say, "Leo want a SNACK?" and I pick him up for his bribery loves and get a reading. And since it's still a comfort for him to have his mommy loving time, I still fake test him quite a bit!

Leo got his new brother last May and they are best buds now. I am so pleased that he and Mako have hit it off. They run around together like peas in a pod. Frick and Frack. Lots of tussels and terrors in the night - we think someone's breaking into the house, but it's just 22 pounds and 8 legs of adventure. They lay in the sun on their thrones at the back door and Leo has several beds. They both get to sleep with Mommy a couple times a week, and Leo cuddles with me just like he used to when he lived in my apartment each week. I miss that so much. Leo's bowl, some food, testing supplies and his (empty) litterbox are still in their appointed places in may apartment - i couldn't move anything for 1 year because I didn't want to jinx it!

Thank you to FDMB for getting Leo OTJ. He was SUCH a bouncy boy I can't imagine continuing my life sleeping 3 hours at a time. I was chained to that freaking meter. My vets are still amazed I got Leo off insulin! And it's thanks to the wonderful people and kittehs here. Leo is living a wonderful life with his beans and brother and sister and Leo says hi to all his buds here.

HAPPY ANNIFURSARY LEO!!!!

WOW, has it really been a year? I remember this as if it was yesterday. Congrats on the year. I love the photos, and It is so great to read that Leo is doing so well. He looks happy and healthy. It is so great that he now has a new buddy, and that they have hit it off so well. Keep on truckin' guys.

:lol: :lol: Love the fake testing. Too cool. I so remember... being chained to the meter.

What great pics of Leo and Mako. Leo looks terrific. I'm so glad that you and the kitties are enjoying life, getting enough sleep (!) and doing well. Carry on!!

Wow, congratulations on making it to the one year milestone! It sounds like all is well Leo's world .. these are the updates we just love to see!
 
Happy Annifurrsary Lisa and Leo!! dancing_cat dancing_cat So great to get a Leo report. I still remember your trips and point to your travel list for those contemplating a road trip. So cute that you've get Leo's things in your apartment - but every place needs a cat's touch to make it home. :-D

Congrat's on this wonderful milestone!! All the more incentive for Davidson knowing there are many who are OTJ for long periods of time..............

With all those high numbers and bouncy numbers Leo had for a while, I was surprised when he suddenly went OTJ. I am so proud of you, and so happy for you and Leo. I'm glad he has a new best buddy to hang around with :) drinking24 Thanks for inviting J.D. and Ginger to Leo's Party. I think J.D. liked the catnip covered shrimp the best. :-D
 
Hi Lovey's mom - thank you! It's a milestone and one I hope you and Lovey get to soon. It was sooo worth all the effort and I'm sure you're seeing what a great group you have here.

Hi Sienne - yeah, Leo's a happy boy and he'll always be my sugar baby. I hope Gabby and Gizmo are doing well in their new digs! What a stressful thing for the kittehs.

Hi Melissa - yup - all is SO well in kittehdom. Leo is very healthy and there is no sign of anything related to his FIV, so we try to keep him as healthy as possible. My boy ;-)

Hi Michelle - thanks for the ~O) ~O) ~O) I'll always remember you and the Master Barista and my triple mocha beans from wherever the heck they came from in Africa morning beverages. :-) They sure had a good time partying, didn't they? This is so strange, I guess, but I still feel sad for Leo that Mannie is gone. Those rotten boys never knew the kind of trouble we had them get into, did they? :lol:

HI Angela - thanks! Unfortunately, I'm in my apartment and can't celebrate with him until tomorrow!!! There is no one to take his BG and make sure he really made it! anti-jinx :-)

Yo Rusty, dude! Whoa, still reeling from the Full Moon party - the moon was supposed to be red or was that the strips of salmon over my eyes? Can't wait for you guys to all come over tonight - a dish of my choice? Hmmm, you got all that cabin land, cook's choice! Hi Wendy - thanks! Cool that Leo's travel list is useful to other people, too! I remember writing that thing, and updating it every time we learned something new ... like how many pee pads it takes to wrap the entire interior of a car! LOL! You're right - I think I will always leave Leo's water dish and placemat on the floor. Makes my heart feel warm :-)

Hi Shawna - thank you! Yes, there is always hope and FDMB is the best place to get there. I hope Davidson goes OTJ and stays there - I wish all the kitties didn't have to be hanging on these boards. It's great to meet people, but as they say, this is the best place you'll never want to be. Good luck!
