Length of Hunger

Hello all,
My cat, Kitty, was diagnosed 3 months ago. I have not been able to get a clear picture yet of how long my cat should be hungry for.
She continues to be hungry for 3-5 hours after eating. Does the insulin, Lantus, take 4-5 hours to kick in before she feels full?
My vet has suggested it may be so.

Lantus typically will start to have an effect (onsets) about 3 hours or so after a shot. But it shouldn't make her more or less hungry.

When you give a shot, you're feeding at the same time give or take a few minutes, right? How much does she eat at that time? And how much and how often do you feed during the day or night?

Diabetic cats will act more hungry, especially if their numbers are still somewhat out of whack. They can't metabolize food as efficiently as a "normal" cat can, so they usually need a bit more per day.

I do give an injection with food, am and pm. Usually I have given 3/4 of a 5 oz can and then the rest an hour later to try and quench her hunger.
Feeding is between 3-4 times a day. I have been giving Greenies at shot time, too.

OK, well it sounds like she's getting enough food. How much does she weigh right now? Did she lose weight pre-diagnosis?
 
She's not regulated if she is ravenous.
