I left the Lantus out on the counter by accident this morning for about hour and half. I have done this before once before another time for about a hour as well.
Do I need to get another vial?

I think you're OK. If you start to get unexpected results, you might have to get another vial. But unless it is really hot in your kitchen, I wouldn't worry about this. Almost everyone has done this at one time or another!

I have done this, too. I didn't have any problems with the Lantus, Zoe's numbers stayed consistent....so unless you see unexpected or weird numbers, it should be fine.

You're fine. I left mine out much longer, forgetful, and checked with the Pharmacist and she said it was fine, and it was fine as the numbers reflected it.

we left ours out about 3.5 weeks ago when it was new, for about 4-5 hrs - enough that it was definitely room temperature. i put it in the fridge and continued using it. it seemed like it did lose a little strength after about 3 weeks, but it was just as we used it up. his numbers went up a little bit and then when i switched to the new bottle they immediately dropped - a noticeable amount. that made me think it was possible that it MAY have lost a tiny bit of potency over time from it - but you never know. also could've been coincidence.

in one hour or so i wouldn't think yours would've even warmed up much. i'd keep using it until you see evidence in BG numbers that there might be a problem.

oh, and terri - about the new vet - i think someone here has a list of things to ask a new vet. offhand, i don't know - i've never actually made a plan to switch vets before. one time i left an old vet practice - but it was ages ago and i don't even remember now why i left. i went to the one i have now, who was highly regarded by my friends.
