Last Insulin in bottle

I'm new to giving insulin. I was just curious, as the bottle gets to the bottom, how do you get the last few units out? With insulin being so expensive, I don't want to waste any. Also is the cap on insulin so thick that the needle barely comes out the very end inside the bottle? So when you turn it upside down, it gets the lowest point of the liquid. Sorry if this sounds stupid.

Tilt the bottle a little sideways (while upside down) and poke needle about midway into deepest part of fluid and draw slowly.

ETA: if you can slowly pull the needle out as you draw more insulin, you can almost suck the bottle dry!
