Can anyone tell me the best place to buy Lantus for a good price. The old post about Lantus was pretty old (2011) and mentioned buying from Canada. I paid $319 for a 10ml vial. The Canadian pharmacy I called sells it for $78 but told me they do not ship to the US because customs holds it for 30 days and it goes bad. It needs to be picked up. Does anyone from the US go across the border and pick up?

Thanks - Janet

Another option instead of buying a vial is to get a prescription for the pens. Because they are packaged in smaller containers than the vial, you are able to use almost every drop before they become ineffective. One package contains 5 pens. Also on the Lantus website, they have a discount card that bring the cost of 4 of the pens down to $25 each. The card has a maximum value of $100.00 Their website for the card is https://www.lantus.com/sign-up/offers

I ordered both Lantus and Levemir within the last year from an online Canadian pharmacy and they had no problem shipping it to me. If you have a prescription for Lantus you can get is cheaply as it is shipped from Turkey. If you do not have a prescription, you have to buy Canada's Lantus and it is a bit more expensive but not as pricey as in the U.S.

I would suggest that you order at beginning of week so it will not be held in a post office over the weekend and you have it shipped to a place where somebody will sign for it and will rush it into refrigeration. I asked for the signature to be waived but my post office ignored the writing on the packaging and held it overnight at their office on a shelf. Luckily, it didn't seem to affect the insulin.
