Lantus Savings Card - Date of Birth

I tried to sign up for the savings card and put in the date of birth that my vet wrote the prescription for 1/1/97 - but it says you have to be 18 to sign up for this.

Should I put something else - my birthday or just back it up to make him 18 - or will the vet have to change the date of birth to match this?

I doubt that they are going to contact your vet. In fact, you should fill this out as if it's your child. If there's no way to indicate that you're the "parent," then you can use any DOB.

FYI - Lantus doesn't have an indication for veterinary use. Despite there being research supporting it being effective for cats, the manufacturer has not applied to the FDA for a veterinary indication. Thus, it's an "off-label" use and the manufacturer, in all likelihood, will not discount if they realize it's for your cat.

Once signed up, you are supposed to pay no more than $25 for Lantus Solostar. Haven't used my yet since Wink Wink is currently OTJ.
