Hi~
New to this forum and have found so much wonderful information. My 14 year old cat, Abby, was recently diagnosed and has been on Prozinc for about 2 months and is doing okay, but doesn't bring her numbers down enough or too much (1.0 unit to 1.5 then back down to 1.0). I asked the vet about Lantus and she agrees a switch might help. I got the 3ml Solostar pen and read some differing views on it (refrigerate, don't, etc) and then drawing up the needle and some of the concerns (don't push insulin back in, etc).....and she offered to transfer the insulin into a sterile vial. Has anybody done this? Is it okay to do it?
Thank you!
