In brief, we just switched to full doses of Lantus yesterday morning. The vet also prescribed Osnior (3 doses) to see if that would reduce signs of dental pain she may or may not be having (full dental exam not yet scheduled).

I haven’t given her any of the Osnior yet because I wanted to see how she would take to the Lantus.

She hasn’t eaten too much today (negative for ketones), so I’m not sure if that BG related, pain related, or something else. Full daily rundown here: https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/6-6-chloe-amps-557-3-558-5-527-question.248288/#post-2800477

Should I give her the Osnior with dinner tonight?

I wouldn't hold off on pain relief, you want to get ahead of pain. Onsior is not the pain med I'd choose, but if it's all you have, then give it.

Did you get any instructions regarding when to give the Onsior? I've never given it. Some meds should be given with food. But it doesn't matter when you give it as far as the insulin dose.

Found this on your previous post that a member said just in case you forgot :cat:

How many days of Onsior did your vet prescribe? Onsior should not be given for more than 3 days. It's a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). These drugs are very hard on the kidneys and can cause renal failure. The manufacturer of Onsior indicates it should not be used for more than 3 days. It is supposed to be used for post-operative pain.

So your vet hasn't examined her teeth at all yet?
I hope she starts to eat more for you today :cat:
They found one cracked tooth (no idea when that happened) and some plaque build up, but she didn’t flinch away so they weren’t sure if she was experiencing pain.

I guess they put them under to do full dental there. X-rays and the full shebang.

Yes, it was only a 3 day supply.
