I just moved to Thailand with Mochi. She has been on Prozinc 0.5U for almost 2 years and BG is regulated. But I found that most animal hospital in Pattaya don’t carry Prozinc nor Lantus/glargine. They do carry caninsulin, but I heard that caninuslin is not the best insulin for cats. Some pharmacies do sell Lantus without script. But I don’t know how to use Lantus and what needle is for Lantus?

Hi,
This would be better posted in the Feline Health forum, lot more people there. Lantus is a U100 insulin, so you would need U100 syringes. Dose changes are usually made in increments of 0.25-0.5U, so the syringes with half-unit markings are ideal. As for how to use Lantus, I'd suggest posting in the Feline Health forum to get started. You'll need a spreadsheet, signature, and a few other things that others there can link you to (or I can if I get a bit of free time today)

I've moved your post to Feline Health, as Melissa suggested, it's a better place for your question.

Typically when people switch from Prozinc to Lantus, they go at around the same dose, so 0.5 units. But you do use the U-100 syringes instead. It's a common insulin for people, so ask your pharmacist what syringes would be used for children. You want syringes with half unit markings. BD syringes are a common worldwide brand.
