Hello Everyone - I had to put my sweet Bootsie down 2 weeks ago. Besides her acromegaly, she went into renal failure and things were not good. We tried some medication for a month but her labs did not change. Her BS were so unstable in the last couple of months, I was filled with worry each morning she would be gone. In the end we were able to hold her and love her and she passed very quickly…however I have Insulin I would like to sell. I am posting here because I would like to help someone else who has a kitty with acromegaly because I know how great their insulin needs can be. Please let me know if I can help. You can email me at <please PM instead>

Oh Jackie, I am sorry about Bootsie. Acromegaly trashed my Darcy’s kidneys too.

I was thinking about you and I had checked in on spreadsheet about maybe a month ago — and I was worried because the entries stopped some time in May. I was going to text you and check in, but I was so overwhelmed with taking care of my cat Ginger (we let her go July 12.)

You and Larry were so dedicated to Bootsie. You did such an amazing job caring for her - even taking her on your RV trips.

Suzanne and Wendy - thank you for your kind words and for taking the email down. I did not think about trolling when I posted. And yes, Acromegaly is really a nasty illness for our kitties. Bootsie was such a good girl, she tolerated all the ear sticks and shots and other medications so well. I was sad the Cabergoline really did not help her but she was a happy cat until the last month. I did stop posting to her spreadsheet as I was keeping it all documented in a note book also. I think I have every sugar I ever did on her and every insulin dose too from the beginning. Thanks again for all your support and help. I hope I can help someone else with the insulin.
