I've posted this in the lantus forum but no response and his shot time is coming up. Diego likely has some type of infection and/or asthma. His cough is back, he feels miserable and his glucose has been in the high 500s to 600s all day long today. Otherwise, his glucose is still high but more in the high 300s. I feel like an increase is needed, but especially tonight. Am I right to bump him from 1.25 to 1.5 u? Shot time is in an hour.

I will have to come up with the money next week to bring him in for a chest xray and figure this out. Vet is closed until Monday and there's no way I have hundreds of dollars to spend at the emergency vet. He sleeps with a humidifier at night, he takes a crushed up lysine supplement in his food once a day, and we have air purifiers for him but for the last two nights his cough has come back in the middle of the night. Last time we were there, the vet told me to come back in for a reevaluation if they got worse or more frequent.

Hi JC,

Can't help with the dosing but be sure to monitor for ketones. Hope Diego feels better very soon.

I can't help with the dosing either. I saw in your other thread you were going to try another pen. That's a good idea. Will you be able to get some tests in tonight? :bighug:
