Hello,

I am going to need to get more Lantus for Chase, as his expires at the end of September. I've seen a couple of posts about this Lantus Card, but am not sure where to go and how to get a prescription for him. I might have an old prescription in his records from the first vet, but will have to see.

I clicked on a link, here, for where to go to apply for this discount, but someone said it would ask you if you were a caregiver, but I didn't see that question. Does this mean I've gone to the wrong place? I desperately need some help getting Lantus. My move to Sierra Vista has put into a horrible place financially. I just don't know how to continue taking care of Chase. My health has been horrible and I'm so lonely because I can't leave the house, other than for work. If I do, I feel guilty. :(

You need to have a prescription for Lantus from the vet and take it, along with the discount card, to the pharmacy. I had to call around to find a pharmacy that would sell me a single pen. I chose caregiver when I filled it out. I told the pharmacy it was in my name and I was listed as the caregiver. If you don't have a prescription, maybe you can call your vet and ask them for one. I'm sorry things are so stressful right now. Sending prayers.

Thank you, Carla.

Does this look right, Carla? It didn't ask anything about being a caregiver? And this would be used for a single pen?

It never asked me if I was caregiver and I used that same link. I listed his name as Zeke Cantrell, which is what walmart has him as with a bday of 01/01/2011 (possibly 2001, been a bit since I had to fill the novolin script). That is their default bday for pets.

Should I be using a Lanuts pen with Chase, since he goes though it so slow? I have a script for a vial, but I guess I need to get a new script for a pen?

That looks like the card I got. I believe it is just for a single pen. If your prescription is for a vial, you'll need to ask your vet to write one for a single pen at a time and ask for refills. Some people have recently run into problems with getting the refills every 30 days. It looks like I'll have to get mine every 60 days. I've seen some say 90 days. However, with Chase on such a small dose, it shouldn't matter for you.
