So if you apply here http://www.lantus.com/sign-up/offers.aspx for a Lantus card will they approve it for a feline instead of a human???

Many users have reported the card does not work since it requires the vet to have a NPI identifier but vets really can't have those

All you can do is try - be sure to list your cat's first and your last name, and put the age at least 18 years old.

A lot of people have used the card successfully at the pharmacy.

But if my cat's name is "Espresso" (not a human name) does that cause a problem?

Do a google search and see if anyone has that first name. There are lots of unusual names out there and I doubt they actually read the entered data.
