Hi! There’s a post on Facebook that could use some skilled advice. She cannot get access to the FDMB on her phone. Can someone please take a look?
Post says:
This group has been great for helping me with my cat. I've been experiencing the wildest BG levels. My cat was diagnosed on 1/12 and I've begun recently home testing using Relion twice daily before his meal. His normal dose is 2 units twice daily. Vet told me not to give him his dose if it's around 115 or below.

1/31 8am - 331
1/31 8pm - 74 (no insulin given)
2/01 8am - 118 (no insulin given)
2/01 8pm - 225
2/02 8am - 332
2/02 8pm - 157
2/03 8am - 69 (no insulin given)
2/03 8pm - 112 (no insulin given)
2/04 8am - 213
2/04 8pm - 303

Is this normal? Keep in mind that my cat has eaten nothing but Fancy Feast Classic Salmon for about two weeks. He was previously on dry food.

Need to see a spreadsheet over several days to answer with any clarity and with only two tests a day it’s hard to say anything. Why can’t she get on FDMB on her phone? She must have a smartphone or computer to use Facebook.

Without knowing more, the quick, easy answer is that the dose is too high and the cat is stuck in a "drop and bounce" loop

Since she recently changed to low carb food, 2U is too much and causing her to either have to skip or he drops too low and then bounces high again

Besides getting pre shot test , try and get more test in each cycle around mid cycle and at least before you go to bed.

I agree with Chris that the dose could be too high now that he is off dry food and on low carb wet.

Most kitties are started around 1 unit to 1 .5 unit.
