I'm so confused & hoping that my cat expert friends can help me.
Lactated Ringer's or PlasmaLyte A Injection ph 7.4 for CRF kitties?
My 19 y.o., Miss Casey, has had crf for about 2 yrs now. She's maintaining well but for the past few days, her appetite has been lessening. I'm giving her cyproheptadine every 12 hrs & adding more water to her canned food. This morning, I noticed that she might need some fluid therapy. I usually give her Lactated Ringer's whenever she starts feeling poorly, but I've run out. I contacted our fairly new vet to get more today. In looking at the bag, it's not LR but PlasmaLyte A. She did not give me any instructions as to the amount to give Miss Casey.
I'm really apprehensive & don't know whether PlasmaLyte A is alright to give her. Any thoughts from my expert cat friends? I'm also posting on FB. I don't know what to do.
