Hello, my diabetic kitty developed a slight runny nose/sneezing. My local PetSmart has L-lysine treats and I know they can be good for these type of symptoms. Are they safe for diabetic cats? Should they be under a certain amount of calories so the blood sugar doesn't go too high? Thanks.

Likely OK but can't really say since what else besides L-Lysine are in the treats? I just add pure powdered L-Lysine to all my cat's canned food.

I mix 250mg in each of two meals daily. That is ¼ of the measuring spoon included in the container.

Check the label for the treats. They sometimes contain corn syrup which will make them high in carbs. Larry's suggestion to get the powder is a good recommendation.
