First on a positive note Calypso (with chronic lymphocytic leukemia) seems to be responding to her treatment. Her lymphocytes are coming down, but her neutrophils are still high for some reason. She had bloodwork done today so hopefully this will show some improvement in the neuts or we may be looking at some sort of secondary infection with her as well.

Oddly enough her BG has been around 100 without insulin for a few weeks now. It's so hot out that neither cat is eating much, which is actually normal for them, so I didn't think much of it. Then I started finding the telltale signs of a UTI in the litterbox, but wasn't sure which cat so I took a sample from both in. Korbel's came back positive for UTI-also no glucose in urine. So, we started her on antibiotics Monday night. Tuesday night when I had her on the counter to test her bg, I noticed her back legs slipping out from under her. She also seemed to be down on her hocks more, but bg still right around 100. I noticed more yesterday that she just seems really wobbly. I took her into the vet today. From the exam things aren't looking too good. She had an extremely fast heartrate (at least 220, vet couldn't count faster), she seems dehydrated, very unsteady, ect.... the vet noticed 1 kidney was very enlarged and the other atrophied. They took some blood and I should get results tomorrow, but things aren't looking very good right now. The vet thought about starting her on fluids since her urine from the UTI test was dilute, so she's definately in failure, but wanted to get results back to make sure she can handle the fluids. Worst case that they are thinking right now is a kidney lymphoma which is a very poor prognosis. So, please keep her in your thoughts.
