Hello,
I haven't posted an update on Klinger for a while. He's had a little ear infection (yeast) going on, but other than that he seems to be doing well. We keep coming back to 1.5 units and I think we should stay with it for a while (unless things change). We've tried reducing to a skinny 1.5 and he gets higher numbers.
He's looking good, jumping up on the couch, playing with string, yelling at the birds through the window. :-D
Hope everyone is doing well.

You tell those birds off but good Klinger! Hope your ears get to feeling better too, Musette just got over a nasty yeast infection, and I bet you aren't nearly as grumpy as she was with it.

Tell momma to give you extra scritches and kisses from Aunt Mel and Uncle Jon.

Yes, a lot going on here lately on the board...sigh. Hope you can get caught up! There is a lot to read.

Regarding Klinger...what exactly are you feeding him these days? I am looking at your SS and it seems he is having a lot of allergy type issues? I am pretty sure we have discussed getting him on raw food before...how did that go?

Klinger is an only kitty like my Tigger. It took a few months to really convince Tigger he was a carnivore. ;) But after we did convert him, all his allergy symptoms went away. He is so healthy now....at 16 years old and being diabetic for 8 plus years. I am so totally convinced that switching to raw food had a lot to do with that. And his numbers are pretty level for all that time (need to update his SS, but you can see what I mean).

Bg number-wise I have always felt it helps to feed Tigger the exact same portions morning and night with a snack left out for mid-cycle in order to keep things consistent and to spot trends (easier to do in a single cat household of course). I am not sure how this fits with your schedule though - maybe an auto-feeder?

Maybe give it another try with Klinger food wise? What do you think?

Nice he is playing and entertaining himself. Tigger is bored and wants the cold weather to go away! :)

P.S. glad to see you back. :) I was gone a bit too.

Klinger is getting all the extra chin scritches today for sure.

Pamela we just started giving gizzards to Klinger as a treat. He's only ate it once and then the next time he turned his nose up at it. We'll keep trying.

Lots to read on think tank. I think I'm only on the 2nd page...

Hi Marcy, good to see you back again, you too Pamela. I have been here but unfortunately, I have read all the posts in the think tank and it is very upsetting. I am so grateful to be on this support group. Just wanted to say...
Sorry about Klinger's ear infection, Alley goes through those too. What a pain, as the medicine the vet gave us has steriods in it and the number go crazy.
I am glad Klinger is feeling so good, that is a great sign.

Oh, and it is a full moon tonite to add to the fun.

It's great to see you on Pam! I agree with you that the think tank post was very upsetting and I enjoy our ISG too. I thought we were the "alternative" ISG for both Lev and Lantus.

Pamela, you will be happy to know that we gave Klinger and the kitty raw rabbit yesterday (and this morning). Klinger enjoyed his and at some point finished the kitties portion. The kitty took a few licks, but wasn't interested. It would be nice to get him on raw from the get go. I'll have to look at Dr. Lisa's site to see if there are any extra nutrients/vitamins we would need to add for the kitty.
