Yesterday was a great day. 8hrs below 300 with 4hrs below 200.
Today the numbers are staying high. Not sure what to make of that.
AMPS started at 554 and now at +3 its still at 473.

It could be a bounce from lower numbers that he was used to yesterday. It might also be worth it to analyze yesterday versus last night and today. Different brand/ flavor of food, less or more eating, more or less exercise? Those are things to factor in too.

If you look at the chart after last nights PMPS it appeared that the numbers were going to trend the same way as what followed after the AMPS.
Now yesterday I did do the first shoot about 20-25 minutes after feeding.
Also I fed straight turkey for his dinner last night. I would not think that would cause high numbers.

+4 is still in the 400's.
Doesnt look like its going to be a good day at all.

Hmmmm, no real insights, but he's following a pattern of black AMPS numbers every other day. Maybe yesterday was "too" good for him. The big difference I see yesterday, beyond the best numbers he's had, is the duration he got from that AM shot. It usually hasn't lasted as long.

Straight turkey is really low, maybe no, carbs. He shouldn't be getting a boost from that, at least not from the carbs.

These are the worst numbers so far.
First time 400 level has traveled into +4

Yeah, I'm with you. He's just "off" for some reason. But take a look at anyone's SS when you have time ('cept for mine since it is blank!) You'll see cycles like this on every one of them, especially near the beginning. Seems like no matter you do, kitties have bad days mixed in with the good ones. It's just frustrating to know know the "why" on a day to day basis.

Bright side, Sev, there's always one there.... You have gathered a ton of data in a really short period of time. You're ahead of the curve on that.

I hear ya.
I was waiting for the other boot to fall last night.

+5 is 436. Back on the rise.

Are you positive Kitty didn't get into something or maybe you gave a fur shot? Today's numbers are so far out that it doesn't make any sense unless.....he's got an infection brewing, or gas from turkey.

I felt the needle go in. Nothing new out around the house.
No infection that I know of. He did a cycle of antibiotics that ended a week ago for a gum infection. The gums looked good as far as I could tell.

+11 came in at 482.

OK, the needle went in but was there insulin in the needle  Where are you shooting....scruff or side?

Uh huh.
There is always insulin in the needle. ;-)

I have been shooting in the scruff.

(So many puns. So little time. )

Many of us shoot along the side, better absorption. Halfway down from the middle of the back, along the flank. Try it for one shot. Just tent up the side.

I will in the morning.

Surprised the vet didnt inform me of that option.

Well his numbers are dropping after the PM shot.
I know the needle penetrated this morning. And yes there was insulin in it.
Is it possible that I hit an area where the insulin didnt absorb?

The scruff may have variable absorption. If you need it to go in slower, the scruff is a good location; otherwise, not so much.

Well the tomorrow as Hope suggested its along the side.
Unfortunately I may not be around to monitor the progress tomorrow.

PM +4 is down to 216.
At least the mystery is solve and we now know where Kitty is currently if a shot does not take.

If the AM shot wasn't a fur shot, and the absorption was "off", what if it just absorbed really slowly, and what you are getting tonight is a little overlap? That's a big drop before nadir. I just noticed you put the +5 on the SS and it said 130?
