Hey there!

Kitty was diagnosed a couple weeks ago, give or take. He also has hypothyroidism ( waiting on the pills to start treating that )

So. Mr Boots was constipated for about 4 days, finally got him to have a bowel movement. Then he was constipated for a couple more days, got him to have a really good turd last night. Been giving him insulin as usual ( 1unit lantus /12hrs )

Woke up this morning at 6:30 and his BG was at 180 or so, and hour later (at shot time) it went down to 144. Fed him and waited. His BG kept dropping. Fed him some more and now at 1.5hr post shot time, no insulin were at 90.

What is going on???

Looks like your cat's pancrease is working like it should :) If your cat goes 14 days without needing any insulin, he's considered in remission. Some cats only need a short period of time on insulin before they go into remission.

Keep testing as usual. Hopefully today wasn't just a fluke. What is your cut off number for no insulin? It's generally suggested to be around 150 for newbies, 200 for those who want to be super cautious.

I've seen some kitties blood sugar numbers rise when constipated, and correspondingly go down when they get relief.

Have you changed anything about his diet? I see you list diet as "combo".
