Hi,
I am happy to say it's been close to 3 weeks and NO insulin for Fluffy! WOO HOO! So first and foremost, thank you all for your help and support!
Now to continue this OTJ trend...
Fluffy was getting his teeth brushed before he was diagnosed but his toothpaste had sorbitol in it...(sugar, right? well, essentially) and I haven't used it since his diagnosis. It was just from Petco, chicken flavored. Any one know any good kitty toothpaste I can use without anything harmful to his diabetes in it? And any tartar control/dental treats safe for diabetic cats?
Also, I was thinking...not as a regular food but as a little treat/supplement to give him some of these: http://www.naturesvariety.com/InstinctRaw/dog/rabbit
probably chicken or rabbit. He's on fancy feast classic chicken pate right now.
But I worry, this says it has honey in it? Wouldn't that be....sugar? I mean...fruit too? I figure since it's medallions, I can give him one or two in his bowl ya know, a "snack" size" when I'm at work between feedings, as a little treat, they appear to be 1 oz in size, but I wonder if it's okay? Any one know?
That's all I have for questions, thanks guys!
