Good Morning!
Well, it finally happened! I woke up last night and went downstairs to give Kitty her insulin at 2 am. I opened the fridge door and grabbed the insulin.....SALLY's insulin (N)
!!!!! I had the needle in the vial preparing to pull the dose when I realized something wasn't right--so I stopped and got the Prozinc! (This gets better, but for the record...Kitty's pmps was 271--after going 10 hours on the mid cycle). So, I went back to bed, and got up early this morning to give Sally her insulin. Back to the fridge I went, grabbed the N insulin (still in the box) and started filling her syringe......but, something didn't look right. Yikes!... The vial of Heparin had mistakenly been placed in the N box! So, Kitty almost got 3.2 units of Heparin last night!
As the saga continues, Sally was 351 this morning....but, I have no idea if she got insulin or Heparin last night at her pm shot!!! The N was on the kitchen table and the Heparin was in the fridge! The good news is, if Sally did get extra Heparin last night....no big deal! But, Thankfully Kitty didn't get any!
Since Kitty had a long mid cycle yesterday, her AM shot is due at 10 am---so, she is at work laying under my desk, waiting to be tested! I will post her AM numbers later!
I knew it would happen! It was just a matter of time. I will be so glad when Sally gets off of all these meds and I can just concentrate on keeping the insulins separate.
Oh well, at least we survived the night and weekend!
Wishing everyone a Great Day.....
