?Kitty post hypo on Monday. PMPS 11 1/2 hours 184. Help with dose please.

Kylee's BG was 184 before her shot tonight. It is coming up on 12 hours. Is the 1unit still ok to give her. She went hypo on Monday. This number is 2 hours after she ate and 11 1/2 hours after her AM shot.

It really is important to test before every shot and (IF possible) get at least 1 mid-cycle test on the AM cycle and always get a "before bed" test on the PM cycle. (most cats go lower at night....we don't want you to wake up in the morning to a tragedy)

By testing often and collecting data, we learn how each cat responds.

IF you can test again tonight and have all the supplies you might need, you could go ahead with the 1U dose, but without those tests, it's really impossible for us to give you much in the way of helpful advice.

We're very data-driven here and depend on those spreadsheet numbers to help us to help you.

It's really important to keep the spreadsheet up to date. That 21 you got on Monday is very significant and will influence our dose suggestions, Have you been giving insulin in the PM? It looks like you have just been doing one shot a day?

I am still finding my way around the site and spreadsheet. Yes, she gets a shot in the PM. I hope the SS is up to date now. It is not easy to get a AMPS. Sorry. I will do my best. She goes to the vet to day. I hope it all goes well. He is one of those vets that don't believe in home testing. At least that is what was conveyed to me when I called Monday after her hypo attack. Thank you for being here.

Unbelievable:mad: guess it would have been better for you not to know, Ask the vet if he would give his child an insulin shot without checking BG first, ie shooting blind. I think we know what the answer would be. Whats there to believe in honestly................................

What in particular makes it difficult?
Perhaps we can make suggestions that will help.
I don't see any pmps either on the ss? nor the 21 are you still having difficulty with it.

Good luck at the vets, what is she going in for?
 
She went in today for a frutosmine test. I posted about it.
I have a lot of my own health issues and mornings are so difficult for me. I have Hashimotos, glaucoma, arthritis and hypoglycemia just to name a few. I will try harder so she can be home tested and stay safe. My hubby won't feed and test her early before he goes to work. So I do it all. I am just stating the facts.
If you don't see any PM numbers on my spreadsheet, I need to make sure I am doing that right too.
