Kitty has bladder cancer !!!!advice

Hi our 17 year old Schooch is in renal failure but this week he started out with a sore leg.Took to the vet and she said his bladder felt funny. then he started tp leak pee took back to vet and they tested pee and she is pretty sure it is bladder cancer.Tonight our sweet boy is sleep easy in the lazy boy with a puppy pad under him.He got up once and went to use the litter box, will not eat. We gave him SQ fluids he does not seem to be in any pain or very little. I pray now for peace for him.Will be more tears for us but he is the important and he will not suffer if we can help it. If anyone knows anything else we can do....or help us in any way just say...We are heart broken he is such a special kitty.When we got him at 4 1/2 weeks old the vet said we should just put him to sleep had nothing going for him but a big voice that wanted to speak and we listen for 17 years ((((((((((Schooch))))))))))))) the King of our house.♥ Kath
 
Kath - BIG loooong hug for all of you. This is the hardest part - I just lived it last week with my now GA Peanut civie. But the tradeoff of the years of love is SO worth it all. Schooch won't leave you, his body's breaking but that's not Schooch, his spirit that's Schooch will always be right there with you. You'll just have to hug him differently.

Sorry it has taken me this long to post.Can`t believe it has been 14 weeks Jan.9th 2012 we helped our Schooch leave on his last journey. I could almost most see him crawl out of that old sick wore out body. Run into his new body when he will
run and play till we come to be with him.
Just wish I could help our hearts easy of loneliness and sorrow. One day one night at a time waiting for his visit to easy our mind. I am so sorry for all your sick kitties for all your losses. Please know that FDMB is always in my heart.

Oh Kath...I'm so sorry. But you're right, He has traded that sick and failing body for one healthy and whole spirit.
Enjoy your well earned wings dear Schooch, till you all meet again.

I'm sorry for your loss .. it is never easy to let them go, but you have to know at this point, he is running free without a care in the world, making friends and having fun .. waiting for the day you shall meet again ..
 
Many, many {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you and your family! We lost our 16 year old, Spooky, to bladder cancer on April 12th :( Im certain they're playing together over the rainbow!
 
Thank you all so very much..Hugssssss to each of you . So very sorry for the loss of your sweet Spooky..April 12 was my mom`s birthday bet she is looking after both our babies.I am sure they are both playing together Thank you Kath
