Good Morning!
They just called with the Kitty report--- she ate better this morning and there were no signs during the night of the respiratory distress that they thought they witnessed yesterday afternoon. They are repeating the blood work this morning to look at her kidney values. They student said that she was swatting at the wrapper the thermometer cover was in this morning--so at least she has a little spunk!
For those of you that did not read late last night...I went to visit Kitty last night. She was alert and seemed comfortable, but very skinny. She had a BIG sign on her cage that said..."Careful....she will Bite!" I am glad she is being fiesty with them. The vet has told me how touch and go things are, but has said that they think Kitty will be able to come home and have some quality of life. I have explained to them that I am VERY interested in her quality of life. They mentioned the possibility of an E tube last night--but, I told them I would have to think long and hard before making that decision. Hopefully, with the increased appetite this morning-- I will avoid that conversation. They did start an appetite stimulant yesterday.
They are concerned over her high BGs-- this morning she was 511. I told them they were lucky she wasn't HI and that they could control her if they would dose tid. They want to talk to me about switching her to Lantus--- I responded by asking how her kidneys and pancreas were today!!!
They will call mid-day with the blood work results.
Kitty seemed glad to see me last night, and I was VERY happy to see her.
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks for the continued support!
