Good Morning!
At times I am hesitant to post what I think is GOOD news, as I am scared I might jinx myself and the Alley cats. But, today I feel the need! Kitty is slowly getting off some of the meds and she seems to be starting to feel A Lot better! Last night Kitty was on the porch and since being so sick she has mainly stayed in just one room-- It is just a matter of which room she picks for the day. Well, last night at "feeding" time, she came "scooting" to the kitchen to claim HER spot! I have been taking her food to her and feeding her close to her bed--she has been very inactive. So, I was very happy to see this movement. Shortly after feeding the crew, I headed upstairs and my heart was happy, knowing she was moving around a little downstairs. About 30 mins later, low and behold, she had climbed ALL 14 steps and made her way to my bedroom and jumped on the bed to snuggle. For the first night in over a month, she slept stretched out on the bed, appearing to be in no pain. Her head was up and her eyes are very clear. Her BGs are still everywhere-- I tried tid yesterday, but she was too low to shoot at +8. So, I waited and at +12 she was over 500--as she also was this morning. I reduced her dose this morning, in hopes of catching her high enough at +8 to resume her tid schedule. I really need to shoot as needed, but I can't imagine another dosing schedule on top of all of the heart and kidney medicines she is on. If I can get her on the tid schedule I am hoping for, it will align with some of her heart medicines dosing schedule. This morning she still seemed to be very content....grooming, sitting up in the bed, and just physically appearing better. Now, I am a realist, and realize that she still is very weak and frail--- and her heart is severly damaged, BUT it appears evident to me that the Ptitis was what was causing the severe sickness and pain over the last month. I guess in a distorted way, I am glad the Ptitis occured and revealed the heart condition-- at least I can give medicines for it and support her heart as long as possible.
Now to Chewy--- He still isn't officially Mine, but I do have the adoption papers in hand! He was bad this morning...chasing some of the other Kitties, I told him he might want to wait to it is "official" to start acting up!
For those of you asking....Sally, dog, is doing Great. Her BGs have climbed a little in the last week, I think I reduced the dose too much. But, she is happy! I increased her dose to 12 units (N) this morning in hopes of getting her BGs lower.
My heart is so happy, seeing Kitty better! I REALLY thought I was going to lose her two weeks ago....so, I am thankful for the additional time I have been granted with her. I feel like everyday is a Gift!
Wishing Everyone a Great Day from Diabetic Alley.......
