Good Morning!

Things seem much better in Kittyville!

Kitty is bright and alert. Prior to the dental procedure, I noticed she was drinking more water-- since she has been home that has subsided. The vet thinks the water consumption was in an effort to sooth the infected area.

She seems better in so many ways- even her arthritis. I'm assuming that is due to the bupe. Can you administer bupe long term?

I don't want to get overly optimistic-- because I know how quick things can change, BUT-- today is a Good Day!

amps 343-- shot 4 units

Hopefully the bgs will begin moving lower.

I hope everyone has a Great Day!

So glad Kitty is feeling better. :RAHCAT

I don't think bup can be given long term, but Robin has had success with Adequan shots for Harley's arthritis. Some people have had success with mixing Cosequin in their food. I tried that with Klinger, but eventually he would turn his nose up at it, so I stopped giving it to him.

Have a great day in Kittyville!

So glad that things are good in Kittyville today!

It sounds like she will really thrive now which is wonderful!

I dont know anything about BUP, I tried the dasquin for Shakes but his numebrs went crazy and he did not like so I stopped
but please let me know if you find out anything on the BUP

Thanks and have a great day!

So nice that Kitty is having a good day.

I have been using Adequan for Harley's arthritus and it has helped alot. He still walks a little stiff legged but nothing like he was, he even tries to trot down the hall like he used to. It's made a huge difference.

Everyone feels better on bupe! It's basically morphine I think. As far as I know the side effects are low (barring overdose of course), but I don't know about longer term - they may be hesitant b/c of the controlled substance aspect of it. I'd certainly ask though.

Glad Cool post-dental Kitty is having a great day! YAY!
We tried Cosequin for Henry and it shot his numbers way up in two days. It contains Glucosamine which in human diabetics tends to raise BG levels.
I don't know anything about Bupe but if it is similar to morphine or an opiate, I would assume it would have same effect over time as it does in humans. tolerance builds up and requires a higher and higher dosage to offer same pain relief.

I had a HOT date tonight so I am late checking in!!!

Kitty has had a good day-- eating well and very alert. I asked the vet about continuing the Bupe, but she said it was over kill! Kitty's pmps was 353, not great -- but, not terrible. I am on vacation next week and intend on getting aggressive in trying to bring the bgs down. Truly, until after the dental she did not act like she felt well and I had almost convinced myself that her care was palliative and there was no need to worry too much about the bg-- just keep her out of dangerous levels. But, she seems so much better-- so, I want to try to get her better regulated. Hopefully we can get her in better numbers-- y'all did catch the "we" in that didn't you?!

And, just so you will know-- my HOT date was with Kitty!!! We cooked Tuna on the grill to celebrate her dental success!!

Hope everyone has a Great night!

I am going to finish off my wine in honor of Denise and Shake's recent success! And, I think I will throw in a glass for Big Henry's good day and without a doubt one for Harley's successful transition to Lantus!

Robin, Harley can go to Lantus--But, you must stay here!!!!

I might need to open another bottle so I can have a glass in honor of Callie eating and Wendy and Shaika's green Day!!

All in all- it looks like a good day in PZI land!

Yea for Ms. Kitty and your Tuna Hot Date, woo hoo.

drinking09 Here's to "WE" getting Kitty regulated.

Thanks for the toast to our PZI kitties.

How could I leave you guys? You're the best drinkin buddies I've got. :-D

I have a little bit left-- so, for my last glass tonight -- I toast Sue, Judy and Joanna for "paying it forward" and staying around to help all of us with our kitties!! What a gift! Thanks!
