Kitty 5/11-- Food Is BAD..AGAIN!

Good Morning!

Kitty just will not stabilize. She is not eating well today, despite the stimulant. I am going to call the vet and see about increasing the appetite stimulant-- they told me not to give it but every 72 hours, so I am not sure if you can dose it at closer intervals. Her BG was 134 this morning at +8, what I had hoped would be her amps. So, while we are welcoming Guests to Chewy's party, we are waiting to retest Kitty and shoot BID. This is getting more and more heartwrenching everyday. I keep looking for a sign, one way or the other.....but, I am yet to see one.

I refuse to get down today--- I set this day aside to celebrate Chewy's success, so off to the Party!

Maybe Chewy's party will brighten her day. Hope it does yours also, Kim.

Maybe Kitty is like a senior citizen. She is getting old and cranky and lots of things are going wrong in her body. Medications help for awhile and then a change is needed. She rallies and then has a bad day. I think you are doing the best you possibly can and you do fantastically well adjusting as you can. It is wonderful she has good days sitting on the sun porch and sad that she has bad ones. Hang in there, honey!

Kim, there is a different appetite stimulant that you can give everyday. It's what I used for Thumper. Cyproheptadine was the one that was actually recommended to me by several people here. One of them told me they didn't like the one you're using due to the fact you can only give it every 3 days.

I drop by often to check on you & Kitty but I'm usually at work when I get a chance & don't have time to post. I've been running a kitty hospital here so I've been a bit overwhelmed. Hugs to you & Kitty!
