Kitten 3rd cycle NS AMPS down, 303

So this is the best AMPS we've had, good. Puzzled by the flat pm cycle, unless something is happening after +4...I guess I'll be getting up and checking. These last couple pm cycles look kinda similar to the ones the 25th through the 28th, just before I'm assuming she started to produce more insulin herself during PM cycle cause that .5 all the sudden just tanked her numbers. So maybe right now mr. pancreas is playing alot more nicely during the day than at night? Just nice to not see a red amps, it was allllllmost yellow.
 
That is a nicer amps. The day cycle could be lower because of more food, spread out more, if he snacks more during the day than at night. Or more excercise which can lower bg levels.

Have you tried this test? Test, feed and then test 45 minutes later to see that her numbers are sure lower not higher. That usually means the pancreas is helping out. Then you can use that info to feed smalll meals all day and night. Automatic feeder?
 
Good morning, this sounds exciting! Food question.... I thought more food would make the #'s go up? Maybe i'm missing something here?
 
LOL...you know, I wonder.... but it just might be. I have a starling who eats moistened dry cat food (she thinks she's a cat anyways, she meows at me). But anyways, she makes a mess. Last weekend I caught Kitten with her paws in shoulders deep through the bars of the cage, snagging fallen kibbies. I wrapped a sheet around the bottom of the cage up to about 3 feet to keep her out. But the bird still throws food, I try to sweep the room every evening after she's done for the day to clean it up. I caught Kitten last night in there and she just dropped and looked really guilty....wonder if she could possibly be finding enough food to make a difference? Everything else is the same food wise day and night, of course she is more active in the day and sleeps almost all night in bed with me.
 
Laurie, food does make the bg go up UNLESS the pancreas is working. If the pancreas is working, then food can make bgs go down. It's a way to test to see if the pancreas is helping out.

Yes, have pretty much always fed at +2 or +3 and seen the numbers come down, they did yesterday with NS. Have not actually checked at nighttime though.
 
Oh well, least it was nice to get a break for the last couple days.... I did go to 1/2 and 1/2 food at NS and +2 from 2/3 and 1/3 yesterday, so maybe that did it. Or maybe not.

If given the opportunity, Grayson will reach into the dog crate (up to his shoulders), and pull kibble out of the bowl. I swear he was playing "Let's Make A Deal" w/ Moochie Pooch one night, as Moochie likes to spill his food from the bowl onto the bottom of the crate, then play a little "Paw Hockey", aiming at the edge. Grayson, being the really bad goalie that he is, sweeps it right in - to his mouth! :o It took me a little while to realize he was doing this. Now the door is shut when someone - even one in a crate - has dry kibble (dog OR cat food!)! That boy will hunt it down and find it! He gets an "A" for determination, and a "U" for naughty behavior!
