Back to the vet we are going in an hour. Kibby was up on the desk last night finishing Muffin's dinner for her. This morning he only ate about 1oz of his breffis. I thought this was because the DGD's came running into the room and probably scared him away from it. And, of course, I had forgotten to put his AB's in it. ohmygod_smile  So I waited a couple hours and mixed up a tiny portion with the AB's in it. He wanted nothing to do with it. I put Fortflora on it, which will usually get him to eat anything, but still nothing. I left the dish in the cupboard where he was and went to do the grocery shopping. Checked cupboard when I got home - food still there, Kibby not. Found him under his chair, and mixed up another dose of AB's with some baby food, which he normally loves. He took a quick sniff and then just stared at me. I tried finger feeding, and he's just not interested. And still no LB prezzies, so we're going back in. Hopefully he's just not wanted to eat because he's constipated, and not feeling lousy again.

ETA: Muffin ambg 73!

Re: Kibby not eating OR pooping now

No, he is impossible to pill, and won't eat pill pockets. Even giving him a liquid med takes two people and we still have battle wounds! I'll take it with me, though, and ask the vet to either give him another AB injection, or shove the pill down the throat for me.

Re: Kibby not eating OR pooping now

I hope your vet visit went well. I'm adding Kibby to the prayer list.
I hope he eats up his dinner and poops up a storm for you.
take good care and Come on Kibby, eat and poo!!!

aww not what I wanted to see .. I hope Kibby is at the vets and is feeling much better .. maybe just needs a little help getting the poo moving!

Well, his temp is back up to 104.4 and has abdominal pain again. So he's staying at the vet's for the remainder of the day. They'll do IV AB's and fluids again and see where he is this evening. Then decide whether he can come home or go to the ER overnight. I told Dr that even if he comes home tonight, I'm going to want him checked tomorrow, so I'd probably end up taking him down there anyway. He said if he's well enough to come home tonight, and his plans for tomorrow don't change, he'll come into the office on Thanksgiving and check Kibby for me. I love my vet so much! He's so good to us!

Please keep the prayers and vines coming, he's not out of the woods yet.

Anne, sounds like you have a wonderful, caring Vet. Many prayers and vines going out for Kibby. I hope for what is best for Kibby tonight with either the ER or home with Mom. Hugs

Healing vines--lots and lots of them--for Kibby tonight. I hope that he will feel better soon and will be eating and pooping. How lucky you are to have such a great vet!

Lots of hugs to you all,

Ella & Rusty

Thank you all for visiting and sending well-wishes! Kibby's temp came down to 102 after his enema  He pooped quite a large amt after that, I'm told! So much so that the backs of his legs are a bit messy, and he's a little smelly :o
They tried to clean him up, but he wouldn't let them. He came home and gobbled down a can of food. So far he hasn't tried to clean himself, he's far more concerned with trying to get the bandage off of his leg from the IV. So I will try to clean him here in a minute. Dr's going to meet me tomorrow morning to check temp and give fluids. Isn't he the greatest? I'm sure Kibby's feeling soooo much better now that he's emptied out!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Let's hope that's a big part of what's been going on. (I think if this were my vet, I'd be bringing dinner to him! What a truly caring person.)

Anne

I'm glad he's feeling better .....poor Kibby! I can understand how the constipation can make him have pain but I don't get the temp. I agree your vet is amazing!

I hope to,or row brings a happier, healthier Kibby.

Paws crossed that Kibby's "spa treatment" continues to make him feel better. It's a good sign he is hungry. I hope the vet managed to get some ABs in him. BTW, I love your vet!
