Ketones help questions!

I am using the Nova Max Plus blood ketone meter. I just did a ketone reading on Izzy...It gave me .5.

The card for ketons shows..

Green 0 to .6 ml ok
Yellow .6 to 1.5 ml
Red above 1.5 ml

When should I take her in? once she hits yellow?

Did you see the studies Sienne and Jill posted to you in a recent condo? Here is the link back to that. They suggest that ketones start to show up at about 2.4mL. I would probably try adding extra water to her food to try to bring the ketones down, and of course getting another ketone test when you can.

The meter's manual is probably based on ranges for humans, and there may be a difference for cats. It doesn't sound like 0.5 is a reason to be concerned yet. What have your previous ketone tests shown?

her prior tests with the NovaMax Plus have registered as Lo. No number.

She has never even show trace on the ketostix..when I am able to catch pee.

Ok...taking the 911 down and calming myself down.
