? Ketone Testing

OK I understand (from being told repeatedly) that I need to be testing my cat's ketones. Fine, so how frequently do I need to test him? Is there a criteria that if he is within certain BG levels he is tested daily and within another he can be tested weekly??

If he has a history of ketones you would do it more often than if you were just checking because he was in higher than normal numbers.
And when a cat is recovering from DKA you would need to test daily or more frequently for ketones.
If you are skipping doses or your kitty is lethargic and /or not eating or is sick/ vomiting I would test for ketones.
If you are doing it because your kitty is unregulated I would test a couple of times a week and increase it if he is exhibiting any of the things in the line above.
