Ketone question

A question about ketones. We bought the FreeStyle Optium blood ketone device. Is this device fairly accurate with Messuring cat ketone levels?
Also has anyone else had their cat up at a higher level like willow was today at 3.7 but wasn’t showing any clinical signs there was anything wrong. I checked her as her BGs had been too high for several days. I did take her to the vet and she had fluids and fast acting insulin to help her levels go down. She was much lower at 0.3 ketones and 8.8 BGs tonight.

I'd pay attention to a blood ketone reading of 3.7. Maybe call your vet to ask if this warrants his/her attention?

Would you be willing to set up a spreadsheet like we use here so it's easier for us to see what's going on and give advice more easily?

Make sure you select the "World" sheet because you aren't in the US. I got that from you saying "Caninsulin" (called Vetsulin in the US) and stating BG numbers in mmol/L. Also, if you use a human meter for day to day BG testing select the template for a human meter, not a pet meter.
