I just got the Nova Max meter to check for ketones and got an initial reading of 2.8. Howie has a history of ketones but that was done checking with the urine sticks and urinalysis at the vet. According to the test strip vial, this is in the red zone as it’s above 1.5. But are human results different than pet results? He shows absolutely no signs of anything wrong. Is a 2.8 result similar to a “small amount” on the urine test strips? I’m not finding any info on the forum on how to interpret meter readings. Thanks!

I think you have to send that link to Robert. (dont know if the Mods can do this) and ask for an update.

looking for a post from Robert now

On the homepage, when I click on KETONES, u see the EDUCATION section, there are immediately 2 links to reference. The one titled KETONE PRIMER FROM AN FDMB USER says is a broken link and cannot be found.

Since 2008 on Abbott's, even in Animal Hospital ER, it should be 0.0, max 0.2. On 0.5 we are already in the car, to beat it before it tips over 0.7.
Call Nova Max to check their reference range towards Abbott's. And an ER.
