My sweet girl has lost her battle with all the disease processes she was coping with. She did not have diabetes, but she had cardiomyopathy, and CKD, and Hyperesthesia, and a cancerous tumor on her back that was almost ready to bust open.

I was giving her fluids daily, but she totally stopped eating, and I could not even force feed food into her. She had an abscessed tooth removed on Dec. 7, 2012, but she started going downhill with weight loss and the kidneys were just wearing out on her. She also had Interstitial Cystitis.

She was my most precious sweet tortie, born in my bathroom on August 1, 1995, and she had a good long life, as an indoor only cat. She really did not want to leave me, but her quality of life was really suffering, and I believe in doing the best we can for our dear furbabies, but not letting them suffer for our sakes. I will so miss her sleeping with me every night. I just hope and pray that one day, I will be with all of my furbabies I have lost in the past.

When my husband died in 2005, I had 12 cats, and am now down to 2. Except I am fostering my son's cat, although I am sure I will end up keeping him. I sometimes envy my husband not being here to go through the total sadness of losing these sweet furbabies that meant so much to him and to me and my son. At least my son came over this evening while the vet put Ketchie out of her misery. Fly free, my sweet tortie girl!!!

Hugs to everyone, and never take your babies for granted. They are here for such a short time with us.

Dear (((Jean))),

I am so very sorry for your loss.

You really fought hard to give your girl the best possible life. And the friendship the two of you shared was so special and precious.
Grief is the hardest form of love to bear; but it is still love...

Will be holding you and Ketchie in my thoughts, Jean.

So very sorry to hear of Ketchie's passing - she was such a trooper.

You made such a brave and selfless decision to let her go. She's free of any pain now and playing with the other kitties at the Rainbow Bridge.

(((Jean))) I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I'm sure Ketchie's 9 other brudders and sisters and your DH were there to guide her over the bridge. I will hug my boy a little closer tonight, and will be thinking of you and sweet Ketchie. Fly free, and land softly rb_icon

Dear Jean - you did everything you possibly could to help Ketchie through her many illnesses, but sadly it was time to help her to the Bridge now that she had let you know she was at the end of her struggle.

You have had to endure so many of these sad losses on your own, but you will be reunited with them all again, I believe - and you are not alone, really, because we all know how unbearable it is to let them go, and our thoughts and prayers are surrounding you.

You will miss her so much - your last girl - and the one who was so very special to you. She did not want to leave, but she will be with you in spirit in a special place in your heart, forever.

So very sorry to see your sad news, Jean. We are never ready for this and your sadness will know no bounds, I know. These precious little creatures are never here with us long enough and they are so much a part of our lives that it's like having a limb amputated when they leave us.
Thinking of you, Jean, and wishing you happy and peaceful memories of your precious little girl.

Sorry to hear it was her time to cross. You guys had been through so much together! I'm sure she's watching from the bridge. Fly free, land softly lil Ketchie. wings_cat

So sorry you had to say so long to your sweet Ketchie. Every day we get with our sweet kitties is a blessing... I count them daily.
I'm glad your son came over to be with you so you wouldn't be alone.
Fly Free, Ketchie. rb_icon cat_pet_icon

I am so sorry for your loss .. I can't imagine losing that many babies .. I hope you know that your DH is already with your GA's, and one day you will all be together again ..

((Jean)) I know you have been through so much loss and sadness...it comes with loving them so much. I am so sorry you had to say good bye to Ketchie, for now. Hugs to you.

Dear Jean,

I am so sorry to hear that Ketchie lost her battle. You did all you could for her. My prayers are with you. (((((((((((((((((JEAN))))))))))))))))))
Love and blessings,

Thank you all so very much for your kind thoughts and prayers for my sweet girl. I miss her so much already, because she was the only cat I had that talked so much. My other three here, don't say too much.

Take care everyone!

Dear Jean
I just saw your post. I'm so sorry you had to say good bye to Ketchie. She was such a fighter. She reminds me of my Vandow. It is so hard to let them go.

Hugs Sandy

Sorry to hear about Ketchie, Jean. I am glad that you have others there at this time of grief.

So you want a talkative kitty? Let me know when you want me to send Dallas up to keep you company - he'll talk your ear off! Even Cedric says he's "loud" (via cjleo).

Jean -

So sorry to read about Ketchie. I know it has been a challenge dealing with all the health issues. My wish for you is that you find peace and comfort knowing that she's whole again, and in the loving arms of her daddy and family. God bless.
