Any one have any experience with this? I made a post a few months ago about excessive "eye boogies" in cats. I have been concerned about my cat "Hot Rod". His eyes have always had excessive goo, but its always clear mucus. I brought this up to my vet several months ago and she said he most likely has feline herpes since he was a stray kitten. She told me the only way to test would be to sedate him and do a scrapping of the eye to culture and to just use human saline drops......the vet who told me I couldn't use a HUMAN meter on Hidey lol, anyways its been bothering me a lot lately because when I go to wipe it away it is so much, and he looks annoyed when I wipe it away. It doesnt look painful to him, just annoying but I started worrying about me wiping it a way....what if its pulling on something and damages something???? So I started to search yet again, and the closest I could find in description is dry eye, and yes it says it can be a result of feline herpes although he doesnt show any other signs (my parents cat has feline herpes) I also know every cat is different. Upon searching though I found mixed reviews on using human saline drops, some saying it can cause more damage and that if dry eye is left untreated it can cause further problems including blindness. Any one have any experience or knowledge on this subject? Any input would be appreciated.
