Kefir - to give or not to give

A friend offered to give me Kefir if it would help my diabetic cat Oscar. Would it be a good thing? If so, in what quantity? Mixed with water or milk??

I gave Kefir to Squeaker for awhile. While it didn't "hurt" there was no noticeable benefit.

Many people have good results with this for beneficial bacteria. Check for any added sugars tho.
It is much better yogurt (unless you make your own)
