Keeping my fingers crossed

My vet visit on Thursday went extremely well and she asked me to start a week long trial of Saatz-Su not getting any insulin injections. Yesterday was the first full day of his system having no "outside" insulin in him. He kept himself between 90 and 105 all day, and so far today looks to be just as fantastic!

I cannot thank you guys enough! The information here is top notch and your help has been invaluable. I also told my vet about the site and she said she would check it out. I hope she will refer her other FD clients here.

Here's keeping my fingers crossed that the next week, and the following 3 after that, go as well as the last day has!

Thanks to every one of you and HUGE hugs!!

Debbi and Saatz

Very encouraging! One thing you might try to bring down the numbers a little is to make a concentrated effort to lower the carbs. If you are feeding 7% for example, try some 3-5%. (Staying away from fish too often of course) Sometimes that helps tip the balance down.

Hi Sue,

I have been feeding the Friskies pate varieties that are around 7%, as soon as payday hits I will for sure try different foods off the wet list that have the 3-5% carbs, thanks so much for the suggestion! :-D

And while one week is great. If you make it two weeks without insulin then in our world here - we officially say the cat is OTJ! So, let's count down the days and paws crossed that in two weeks, you have a diet controlled in remission kitty.!
