I have been MIA for awhile on my own condo but reading others - just been incredibly busy with work. Kazi's BG numbers have suffered with I think my screwed up shot times...and then on 10/18 in the AM I managed to give her a fur shot (smelled lantus).

Yesterday:
AMPS: 240
PMPS: 200
+1: 150
+3: 90

I thought we were headed in the right direction and then this morning's first reading was 304. I retested and got 279 so just went a bit higher for what I recorded. This makes me nervous something is brewing. I made an appointment at the vet for 11:45. Could easily be nothing but I know I won't relax if I don't get her checked out.

Welcome back!
I think you are doing the right thing by taking Kazi to the vet to check her out. The recent numbers on her SS are not what I would have expected to see, even with a fur shot. Or it is possible that maybe she just needs a fatter drop for a short time.

Well I got the vet I avoid at all costs. He tried to poo poo my saying I think something is up her BG is too high. He just kept saying 285 really isn't that bad... a lot of cats never get under 300 and that I could try raising her dose. ohmygod_smile That may be for YOUR patients- but for Kazi that is about 120 higher than her 'high'. He never even glanced at her spreadsheet I brought. Her temp was normal, BG was 101. I pushed for some bloodwork and it shows increased lymphocytes? so showing there is some inflamation somewhere. She is also slightly anemic.

So we have clavamox for 7 days and a supplement to see if that bumps her iron back to normal with a recheck in 3 weeks.

Started her antibiotics and vitamin supplement with her PM shot tonight. Poor girl got her pill worked back up and gagged before I was successful in getting her to swallow it. Didn't seem to mind the supplement mixed in her dinner though. Appetite was good for dinner. Hoping the antibiotics kick in and her numbers begin to head back down...I fattened her dose a bit in the AM and PM. Amazing how screwy BG numbers can worry a momma bean! Now Kazi just needs to get a job to help pay her medical bills. :lol:
