Kai's glucose curves today. 1 week on lantus

Aloha everyone,
Today is one week Kai has been on Lantus. Here are today's readings:
6am - 258
8am - 290
10am - 250
noon - 273
2pm - 290
4pm - 288
One thing I noticed is that his numbers are more consistent and not all over the place.
Every time I pick him up he is fearful Im going to put him in the carrier and to the vet. Poor guy. I feel so relieved and free that I made the right choice by cancelling the vet appt. and doing my own testing!

Welcome. I’m glad you did the curve at home too. It will be more accurate without vet stress. Would you be willing to set up a spreadsheet? I can either give you directions or get someone to help you. I needed help with mine but then I taught myself all I know about computers.
 
I’m so glad you did the curve yourself - your strips will seem very cheap when you’re not paying $260 for vet curves!!!

I agree with Elise for a .25 increase.

In Australia we can’t get syringes with half units marked. I used to make a sample syringe for the doses using water with colouring in it to help me be more accurate with the dosing. Then I could spend a bit of time fussing over the sample dose when it wasn’t urgent and save time fussing so much when I needed to give a shot.

Please do set up the spreadsheet as soon as you can. It’s very easy to use and we’re going to need to be able to see her history as time goes on :cat:

Kai's morning reading was 205. He seems to finicky now with his food, still feeding him Fancy Feast classic. I have to wait it out for him to eat....they are like little children...lol
Yes your right about strips being cheap now...lol Im going to try to figure out how to do the spreadsheet.....thank you all for your help
